TM,
I spent quite a bit of time over the last two weeks with PBX V2 and Fedora 6. Here is what I learned that may save you time.
1) Install Java 1.5.0_11 using the jpackage method.
2) Install Tomcat5 using Yum after your system is using Sun java by default. You can test by typing java -version to make sure it is using sun java by default. Then when you install tomcat using yum it won't try to install the free java.
There is a bug in the tomcat5 stop routine that causes a 30 second delay during shutdown.
After that the install is rock solid. |

Hello Folks
We were successful in installing Brekeke PBX on Linux, any suggestions on the firewall policies to make these boxes safe.
Here is a list of port/protocol that i think we need:
*tomcat ( allow from everywhere )
8009/tcp
8080/tcp
9001/tcp
*Brekeke ( allow from everywhere )
5060/udp
15060/udp
15062/udp
25060/udp
25062/udp
* no idea
11000 -11999 / udp (allow from eveywhere)
Thanks,

TM,
You need 8080/tcp open for brekeke web interface. You don't need 8009, 9001 open to the outside world.
5060/udp needs to be open for sip communication and 10,000 - 10,999 needs to be open for rtp not 11,000-11,999 unless you changed the rtp port range in the sip server. The other ports you listed like 15060 and 25060 are ports used to communicate from the sip server to the pbx and are internal not external so you don't need to expose them to outside. In the case where you have the pbx on one box and the sip server on another box you would need to open all the ports you listed. |
