Hi all,
I am having problems installing PBX 2.1.56. Running Windows XP Pro with all updates. Have tried with both Jre 1.5 and 1.6 but i cannot get it to work. Here is the message I am getting when I try to install:
Brekeke PBX 2.1 Setup
---------------------------
Failed to install Brekeke PBX service.Check your settings and permissionsIgnore and continue anyway (not recommended)?
I once tried ignoring and installed it but I was not able to start it from admin tools and services.
Any help would be apreciated, many thanks! |

I think you have to uninstall and delete the install folder and
install again.
I recommend to install latest BETA. |

I got the same message during evaluation. You have to answer "start PBX" or something during the last part of the install. I had to re-install to get to that again. But I'm am no way an expert as we are just evaluating this system right now. |

Well, I have still no solution to this as of yet. I have uninstalled everything including JRE and reinstalled but with the same result. Have tried different updates as well. |

Are you using any firewall software? If so, please disable it or add "java.exe" as trusted program in the settings of the firewall. |

Hi there,
Using JRE v1.5.6 update 14.
Just for your info here is what I did to install.
First I downloaded and installed JRE.
Then, I installed the PBX. I ignored the error message and then I started the Brekeke PBX manually under control pannel, administration tools and services Just to see that everything was working.
I then activated the PBX and rebooted the system and everything is working just fine now. Let me know if I can be of any help! |

Hi,
Brekeke does suggest that you install the jdk rather than the jre. |

Hi there,
I am new to Brekeke as are evaluating the software at the moment.
You say 'Brekeke does suggest that you install the jdk rather than the jre.
We have it running with jre and it works fine.
Can anyone from Brekeke confirm if we should use 'jdk or jre'.
Regards - Colin |
