3. OS type and the version: Win Server 2003

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/networkpatterns.html : None of em

6. Your problem:

I'm pretty new to the VoIP technology.

I'm developing a web site where people can browser based voice chat with each other in different chat rooms.
Therefore I guess I first need a suitable SIP Server. Would that be possible with your product?

I'd be glad if you can support me with your best knowledge.

King regards,
Kaan Özgen

If your web based voice chat client is based on SIP protocol, you can use Brekeke SIP Server as a SIP proxy and registrar.

Are you using any SDK for your client? Does it support SIP?

Yes, you will definitely need a SIP server (SIP proxy) to enable voice chat among SIP clients. Any SIP server that conforms to RFC 3261 will work with your SIP client, but some will do better than others, depending on your needs. Some things to consider when choosing a SIP server:

- Do you need to support NAT traversal?
- Do you need to anchor the media for REFER?
- Do you need to support codec conversion?
- Do you need to bill for your calls?
