1. Brekeke Product Name and version:

Brekeke PBX, Version 2.4.3.9 , Multi-Tenant

2. Java version:

N/A

3. OS type and the version:

Windows 2008 R2 Server

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:

N/A

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/networkpatterns.html :

Pattern 9

6. Your problem:

We have several professional recorded greetings that we would like to upload to our Brekeke PBX. Unfortunately, the file format that the files are in are not supported by the Brekeke PBX. The files are in a .wav format and need to be converted.

I have read in the Brekeke Wiki to use the SoX program.

http://wiki.brekeke.com/wiki/Convert-ul-file-to-wav-file

I downloaded it and try to run the proper command but with no luck.

Will you please assist me by:

1) Confirming the .wav audio file format that is supported by the Brekeke PBX for auto attendant greetings

2) Confirming the proper SoX command to convert our current .wav file to the proper .wav file format supported by the Brekeke PBX.

Thanks,

-Will

sound file format supported by brekeke is at section 5.6.4
http://www.brekeke-sip.com/download/bpbx/v2_x/bpbx_admin_basic_en.pdf

if you .wav file format is correct, you can upload to auto attendant from pbx gui/voice prompt/auto attendant ext id
upload from there without using sox

download sox and extract download file
put .wav file to the sox folder
run sox xxx.wav xxx.ul under sox folder from command prompt

Thanks for your email.

Would you please reply with the exact command to run to change a file named:

audio.wav

to the correct Brekeke .wav format using the SoX command?

Thanks,

-Will

Thanks. I will give it a try and get back to you.

What windows or Mac GUI program do you use to change .wav file audio formats to fit Brekeke?

Thanks,

-Will

I just tried the following command but with no luck:

C:\sox-14-3-1>sox.exe fmg_411_new_recordings.wav -r 8k -b 16 -c 1 test.wav

1) What program do you use to change .wav file to the correct Brekeke format?

2) What is the proper SoX command to run to change a .wav file to the correct Brekeke format?

Thanks,

-Will

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the suggestion, however, in this particular case, that is not workable. We do use your suggestion in uploading new records that we record ourselves.

The issue is that we have professional pre-recorded .wav files that are supported by the Brekeke PBX. We need to convert these .wav files to a format that is supported by the brekeke PBX.

1) What software do you use and/or Brekeke recommend to perform such a conversion?

2) What settings in the recommended software do you use to perform a successful conversion?

3) What is the correct SoX syntax/command to perform a successful audio conversion for the Brekeke PBX?

Thanks,

-Will

I have tried several audio converters using the following settings, with no luck:

Output Type: .wav

Format: Microsoft PCM

Frequency: 8K Hertz

Channels: mono

Bits: 16

Any advise would be great as I am unable to update our clients greetings.

Thanks,

-Will

Hi:

The format is:

.wav
frecuency 8Khz
Mono
Bit rate: 16 bits

For recording from using the PC you can use Audacity, is a free voice recorder.

Thanks Juan for the info. Yes, recording using audacity work great. The problem I am having is taking an existing .wav file that is NOT in the correct Brekeke format and then converting it to the correct Brekeke format. I have tried this several times (even with Audacity) but with no luck. The issue I get with Audacity is that after I convert it to the new 8KHz freqency, the audio plays SUPER SLOW and sounds like the "predetor" or some alien creature from another planet Smile

Any ideas?

The bummer is that I figured this out several months ago after trying several audio programs but since then i have changed laptops and for the life of me cannot remember which software I used Smile

Thanks,

-Will
