1. Brekeke Product Name and Version:
Standard 3.8.5.2

2. Java version: 8 . 181

3. OS type and the version:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:
Rauland SIP Integration

5. Your problem:

We have an issue where without much warning the SIP server stops accepting registrations and dial back. The admin tool also stops responding. When looking in the server event logs I cannot find any errors related to either JAVA or the brekeke SIP.

Looking at possible server failure, or is there maybe an issue with this version of JAVA and Brekeke?

We have another site that is utilizing almost the identical setup except they are on SE 7 Java and have experienced no issues.

Do you have DialPlan rules? please make sure they don't make an infinite loop.
Have you rebooted the SIP Server or OS after the issue happened? and did it solve the issue?

Yes here is the basic dial plan

Matching

$addr = <Telcom_IP>
$request = ^INVITE
To = sip:(.+)@

Deploy

To = sip:%1@
$transport = udp
Alert-Info =
P-Location =

So Im sure its not a loop issue, just a basic Rauland integration. Issue does go away on a reboot but then will crop back up again usually within a week. Tried to pin it to timing of say backups/etc... but it seems to just randomly happen.

When did the issue start happening? Did you change any settings just before the issue started happening?

How about memory and CPU usages when the issue happens? Are they high?

Are you using a VM product such as VMware for running Brekeke SIP Server?

Which Telcom product are you using with Brekeke SIP Server?

There server team is looking into any system spikes. It is on a virtual environment, I believe VM Ware.

The telcom integration is for dial back from the most recent version of Ascom Unite.

I've requested said information from their server team and will report back once I get that.

While the issue is happening, can you send a ping to the SIP Server's Windows Server 2012?

Also can you access to outside web site from the web browser running under the same Windows at that time?

Yes and Yes

The Ascom side is

Ascom Unite 3.3.1.15777
Unite App Mgr 3.3.1.15630

Virtual environment
vSphere: 6.0.0 4600944

They have been running RAM and CPU tests but have not found any spikes, but we also have not had another failure yet. My worries is we are going to have to try and catch this failure live to see what might be going on.

Change of Java versions, or something in the settings I may be missing on the brekeke side?

Does Ascom Unite register in the Brekeke SIP Server?
Are there any looked calls listed at the [Logs]->[Error Logs] page?

Your java version is ok because 8.181 is the latest.

There were on version 2 on a physical box and we moved it to the Rauland Application server on a virtual platform. It was a base install using 8.1.81 and for best we can tell it just happens at random times.

Doing do more digging we found that the service is still running and does accept registrations (including the Ascom Unite) but just does not accept dial backs into to the SIP server.

Registered an xlite soft phone during the issue and attempted to dial another xlite softphone and get a busy tone.

Restart the service and everything works golden.

Whole thing is driving us bonkers trying to track this gremlin down.

If you have a support contract with Brekeke's support team, you can send a log to them.
