1. Brekeke Product Name and version:
Brekeke SIP Server , Version 2.0.7.2

2. Java version:
1.5.0_11

3. OS type and the version:
Windows XP SP2

4. UA (phone), gateway or other hardware/software involved:
SIP BC (http://sip-bc.dev.java.net/)

5. Select your network pattern from http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/network/networkpatterns.html :
Pattern 1

6. Your problem:

The SIP BC (my UA) and the SIP Server are both located on my local box.

When the SIP BC is 'started', it binds to a single IP address and port as its listening point.

When the SIP BC uses the IP address my machine has from the LAN (10.9.5.120), registration works perfectly. however, when the SIP BC uses 127.0.0.1, we don't get a respone back from the SIP Server. However, teh admin tool shows that we have successfully registered.

I did notice though, that the admin tool, under the colum heading "Detail", shows "Requester: 10.9.5.120:3495" even when the SIP BC is configured to use 127.0.0.1.

What'd I'd like to know is if the SIP Server uses the address it has for "Requester" to send the Register response to instead of the address from the original Register request (which would be 127.0.0.1) ??? If this is the case, it's obvious that's why the SIP BC is never seeing a response ... it's only establishing a listening point on 127.0.0.1, not every address the machine has.

Is this related to the question previously posted here? http://www.brekeke-sip.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=4969

Shouldn't the SIP Server be responding to Register requests on the address indicated in the original request ?
